Within the scope of a research project funded by the LOEWE Center for Synthetic Microbiology we are looking for a doctoral student for the mathematical modeling of (micro)biological processes. The job involves the development, implementation and optimization of mathematical models of (micro)biological processes in cooperation with staff from research groups in the faculties of biology and chemistry of the university of Marburg. Mandatory for application are a very good diploma in mathematics or a comparable academic degree, very good knowledge in mathematical modeling and optimization as well as interest in (micro)biological questions. Further necessary are the ability of working in interdisciplinary teams and very good communication skills in German and English. Advantageous are a good knowledge of parameter estimation and optimal experimental design. -
